1800 compact 98-key aluminum DIY Kit.

MonsGeek M2 DIY Kit

M2 is a 1800 compact QMK and south-facing aluminum barebone keyboard.

1800 compact layout are efficient, and ideal for users who want to maintain the full-size of the keyboard while save desk space.

Note: M2 requires 2 x 1.5u function keys (ALT/FN) at R1. It is compatible with Akko MDA / SAL profile keycaps. Given M2 intl’ version is QMK programmable, users can literally program any key; hence, any keycap sets with alternate 1.5u R1 keys are theoretically compatible with M2 such as Marrs Green, World Tour Tokyo Cherry Profile etc.

Disclaimer: we do NOT sell domestic non-QMK version on global store. All M series model you see are international version exclusive.

Stabilizers

PCB Mount/Screw-in stabilizers tend to vibrate less. M2 uses Akko transparent white stabilizers (un-assembled) with nylon housing in case users want to lubricate.

South-facing PCB

The south-facing PCB of the M2 avoids causing interference with Cherry profile keycaps, offering more compatibility and flexibility.

Gasket Mounted Style

With the Gasket-mounted structure, the isolation between the plate and the case gives a unique sound and feel compared to other mounting styles.

New Silver Accent

Adding a touch of class and elegance, we opted to add a beautiful golden accent so that no matter which way you look at it, you’ll fall in love over and over again.

N-Key Rollover

The N-Key Rollover technology allows all keys to work simultaneously and ensures every keystroke is recorded and prevents ghosting.

Engraved Back Design

M2 Aluminum Kit QMK version has adopted the new engraved back design with a re-sized sticker for aesthetics purposes.

QMK / VIA Support

MonsGeek M2 supports VIA for cross-platform (Linux/Mac/Windows) advanced keyboard configuration.

This feature is exclusively for international version of M2.

Need More Foam?

Monsgeek has developed its own budget custom material that performs equally as well as poron. Meanwhile, MonsGeek M2 custom kit comes with an additional sponage case foam to reduce case ping.

*Disclaimer: Using thicker foam may reduce flex, whether to include it or not is down to your personal preference.

PET Insulation Layer

A PET insulation layer has been added to the bottom case in order to prevent any short circuit issues. It’s rare for these issues to occur but we want to add extra protection.

Sturdy gasket, good price-value ratio

This is my 3rd gasket from akko. In my opinion they make the best gaskets in this price range. I initially bought a +plate just to make it sound even better, but ended up not using it since the sound (and noise reduction) is perfect. It's nice that it comes fully built for the beginers. They are heavy-duty, I can almost guarantee that they last for a lifetime. Bought the V3 black pro switches for the creamy sound and it also gives a sleek look to this set.
I know this built might look boring, but I'm using it as an office keyboard so it thad to be fully black. The customer service is also helpful.
Happy w my purchase!🙂

Good quality, no special character option

The keyboard is nice and has a nice feel and sound (switches bought separately). There wasn’t an option to add e.g. German special characters or at least stickers (unfortunately).
