PORON Plate Foam

M1W is equipped with PORON plate foam, effectively reducing the noise generated by key switches, ensuring a purer and more comfortable tactile sound experience for the keyboard.

MonsGeek M1W has undergone an upgrade, transitioning to Poron case foam with superior elasticity compared to M1.

Love the keyboard.

Ordered a M1W with Piano Pro V3 switches.
The keyboard is heavy which I like very much.
Combination of the board and switches is very nice and I like the sound.

Only little thing is that there should have come a switch and keycap puller even with the DYI (Luckily I had one).

Great first alu kit

I am a budget keyboard enthusiast and ever since M1 released, I knew I'd get it one day as my first budget aluminium keyboard, and then M1W released. I ordered it and added the free POM plate.
I placed the order on Nov 8 and received the keyboard on Nov 17. Considering it found its way to me in Easter Europe all the way from China, the shipping time was quicker than I expected.
I used the POM plate, left all foams, put lubed Akko CS Lavender Purples and CandyShop keycaps I had from an earlier build. The result was great! Somewhat low-pitched and creamy, and a bit muted sound - which exactly what I wanted.
My only (minor) gripes:
- the case ping which resolves itself using the included teflon pads;
- warped spacebar wire in the included TPU stabilizers. Although I was surprised that the additional stabs kit was not screw-in, but another clip-in stabs (my fault for not reading through the included items but I thought it'd have the same screw-in stabs as M1). The pre-installed stabs were lubed generously and I left them for all non-spacebar keys, while I used the addtional Akko TPU stab for the spacebar, which I needed to straighten out the wire for. Afterwards it was okay;
- perhaps the biggest annoyance: the red LED under spacebar was constantly shining red. It means that the batteries are charging but even after leaving it to charge for hours, the LED still was glowing red (I even updated the kb using Akko's software). Since I don't use the wireless option, I simply unplugged the battery connector from the PCB and left it like that.
Another minor issue is a very general one which has been addressed in numerous review videos is that the 2.4 GHz dongle doesn't have a compartment inside the keyboard: you either have it plugged it in the computer, or you have it stowed away in your keyboard box. Not ideal if anyone wants to carry around this keyboard and use it wirelessly.
Still rating it 5-stars as the issues were minor. I think it is a great kit for the money and has a lot of additional stuff included to mod it the way you want.
