MonsGeek M1 V5 VIA US Series Mechanical Keyboard

Sounds great out of the box, and is super easy to mod. I was surprised at how good the build quality is with a solid metal case and great feeling key caps. i replaced the piano pro linear switches with akko creamy blue pros v5 and it turned out great. would highly recommend for the price point, especially if its on sale.

I build the keyboard with green frog switches. The green frogs are too heavy, switched them with durock sea glas switches.
Building proces was super easy, it was easy to connect with via.
It sounds great with green frogs and also with durock sea glas switches. The switch to swap between wired and wireless under capslock is not a problem for me.
Really happy with it.

Typing is bliss. I really like how heavy the aluminum casing is. Rosewood switches feel and sound buttery, not clacky, and reprogramming keys was doable, even for a beginner.

The keyboard sounds amazin out of the box, I paired it with the akko dracula switches. It feels very robust, but maybe a little too much, weighting basically 2Kg.
Impressive battery life, i've been using it nonstop for about a week and it is still at 70% (I do not use any lighting)

The setup was easy, there's a manual with the combined keys functions.
The VIA setup required me to upload a .json file (it's a very easy task).

The only downsides to this keyboard is the on-off switch. It is below the caps key, forcing you to remove it if you want to switch from wireless mode to cable (no battery usage) mode.

Ordered three ISO Akko boards in the Black Friday sales (this one, the 5075B Plus and 5108B Plus, latter went to a family member who has not used a mech board before). Used the 5075B Plus for a while (fan of the side RGB strips!) with some custom keycaps before swapping to the M1 V5 - sadly there's no comparison. It's a lovely feeling board. Feels very solid, good weight, easy to access to mod, and most importantly thocky with the Rosewood switches. It's a softer but somehow sturdier typing experience than the 5075B Plus (which, tbh, I quite enjoyed out of the box) and generally feels more premium e.g. the volume **** is more consistent in OS, I found the one on the 5075B Plus skips a fair amount.

No complaints other than it's a shame the RGB strips on the side of the 5075B Plus chassis didn't make it into the design somehow - and I prefer the function key indicator lights on the 5075B Plus versus the under-key lighting, but that's just personal taste/nitpicking.

Overall really happy with the M1 V5.

The keyboard arrived and is working great.

Some testing will be needed but feels really good.

The process was however difficult on order. Delay, price dropped even more after my order, local couriers being confused.

Thankfully support did assist me with my requests. Though for some reason their emails went to my spam inbox?

Will play more with keyboard but pleased so far especially with battery life.

As one of the previous commentor, being a bit picky on where the on and off switch is located.

For my first custom keyboard I am very happy with the purchase. Thocky sound out of the box, no requirement to modify it any further IMO. I used Vertex V1 Switches (Hand-lubed), and Keytok's Mecha Godzilla Keycaps. But bummed there was no ISO layout keycaps on that but made work around with the extra switches provided.

This is my first custom aluminum keyboard, and I’m genuinely impressed. The MonsGeek M5 completely exceeded my expectations.
The build quality is rock-solid—it is heavy, well-finished, and stays firmly planted on the desk. Typing feels remarkably smooth and substantial right out of the box, without any of the hollow, cheap rattle common in off-the-shelf plastic boards.
For the price, I got exactly what I was looking for and then some. A fantastic entry into custom keyboards if you need a full-size layout.

I think this keyboard is great for starters / people who want to easily mod their keyboard.

I give 4 stars because the bottom left rubber of the keyboard case came loose during transport, which also affected the ability to stick to the case. Besides that everthing alright.

Very nice Keyboard with high build quality. Sound **** just pure fun to use. Great features available just with FN-Key (no software) like Media Control (Skip, Stop, etc.) typical Notebook Functions, the LED-LightningModes and Battery Charge.

Changed Switches to Akko Banana to get it even more silent.

Grab one if available.

The sound, the feel - everything was even better than I had hoped for.
Got mine with the Piano switches that I replaced with the Akko Rosewood and voilà; keyboard typing perfection.
I can hardly praise this product enough, so I'll just say if you're into the idea of a better typing experience - GET ONE!!

This keyboard is great. The stock sound with piano blacks is awesome. No Spacebar rattle! The only downside is the quality of the switches. A lot of them are faulty. I alredy used all of the three spare switches and fear that other switches will get faulty too. Other than that full recomendation.

I bought the Monsgeek M1 V5 to replace a GMMK Pro. I wasn't expecting it to be so much better than my old keyboard! The sound, the feel, the build quality is so good! With the Rosewoods, it's thocky and quiet. The keycaps are also pretty good. It also comes with lots of extra keys for different layouts. Overall a great keyboard.

All good, support in the end contacted me and I resolved the issue.

The overall feedback is highly positive regarding the core product, with a few notes on easily replaceable components.

The Positives

The keyboard is fantastic! Out of the box, it has a sound that I absolutely love, which is a huge plus for a ready-to-use product.

Areas for Improvement

I noted two specific components I will replace soon:

Cable: While functional, the cable is not ideal. I would have preferred even a basic braided (telato) cable. I'll replace it as soon as possible.

Keycaps: The keycap printing isn't great. I would have liked different keycaps, but trying to buy a set (like Akko or from the official site) is difficult due to availability issues. I plan to change the keycaps set immediately.

In conclusion: The keyboard is an excellent base, and the minor issues are easy for me to fix by replacing the parts.

Shipping was much faster than expected, having to order from the CA warehouse as the DE warehouse wouldn't let me ship to the UK. I went for the Rosewood switches after a lot of deliberation and I have absolutely made the correct decision, they sound amazing and feel great to type and game on. The housing is extremely sturdy and feels very premium, it is very heavy! It came with a bunch of extra keycaps which I needed as it came in a different layout to UK keyboards, it comes with a keycap picker which made that very easy. It also comes with a switch picker. I have seen some people complain of spring crunch and needing extra lube with the Rosewoods but I haven't had any problem at all. It also came with a cute little 9th anniversary badge. To be honest, I'm half writing this review as an excuse to type with this thing, I couldn't recommend it enough.

So originally I ordered another keyboard, however the website had an error and it shouldn't have been on sale. That was not great however due to the amazing customer service I ended up getting this keyboard (which was about £15 more) as well as some free piano switches. After receiving the keyboard everything went great and absolutely no problems so far. It makes for a great combination with purple lavender and piano switches making a really nice tactile/creamy sound with a really nice bass to it. Overall great product and great company :D

Es un muy buen teclado por el precio que tiene. Las teclas con las que viene son superiores a otras… es una pena que que no tengan distribución de teclas en Español. Si sacaran teclas en español las compraría sin duda.

The keyboard works very well, the sound is heavy and deep with Akko V3 Creamy Purple Pro Switch.
